Motivation From Wheelchair Bound Bowlers

Sometimes, people get down and depressed, and thus, become unmotivated. Yet, in the United States there is no reason to give up on your goals or get upset about anything. For those of us that have traveled to Third World countries, places where you cannot drink the water and there is no electricity, and if you’re looking for a bathroom, well it would be that tree around the corner; we know how good we have it here in the United States.
In fact, when you come back from a third world country you are so happy to be home and take a nice warm shower, and just relax it’s hard to describe. Speaking of which, it sure is a big motivator in life to meet with very nice people that don’t have a pot to piss in. They have families that they love just like us, they are not much different except they don’t have all the amenities that we have in our advanced civilization.
Life is much more difficult in some regards, and it is much more simple and others; it’s just different. Some might ask how come they don’t upgrade their civilization, but it’s a lot easier said than done.
There is no reason you cannot succeed in life, there are people all around the world that don’t have your opportunities. But even here the United States there are folks that have to overcome challenges, but sometimes we don’t. The other day I met a wheelchair bound bowler, and although, he was unable to get up and walk around, he wasn’t going to let that stop them from winning the next tournament.
He was motivated and you could feel his energy; amazing, unbelievably amazing, the human spirit. After talking with him I was completely motivated, I knew that nothing could stop me, I had no excuses. Perhaps, you need to think about that, and consider how lucky you are. If they can do it, with all their adversity there is no reason you can’t.
